Find out why Katie joined the Youth Talk team.
Katie joined Youth Talk in 2023 as the charity’s first Corporate Partnership Fundraiser. Her previous experience includes advertising, primary education and employment advisory.
Why Katie joined Youth Talk
Katie joined Youth Talk because she saw the positive impact that can be made when communities come together, especially in terms of mental health support for young people.
With her skills and experience, she wanted to make a difference and help young people access the support they need.
Having two teenagers herself, she understands the overwhelming need for mental health support which can be so hard to access.

Katie’s role at Youth Talk
As the Corporate Partnership Fundraiser at Youth Talk, Katie’s role is to engage with local companies and businesses that share the same purpose and vision of giving back to their community. She is responsible for securing new partnerships and nurturing existing ones, with the goal of long-term growth.
As a local resident and mum of teenagers, Katie’s passionate and understands the positive impact of counselling for young people. The rewards of her work will mean additional funding to meet the organisation’s 5-year strategy to double the number of counselling sessions that young people so urgently need.

Outside of Youth Talk
Outside of her work at Youth Talk, Katie enjoys watching theatre shows in London, visiting Sadler’s Wells, and is an avid reader of many genres. She keeps fit by boxing, dancing and walking her 3-legged dog, Mabel. Autumn is her favourite time to be outside in the fresh air and she spends many blustery Sundays at Heartwood Forest.
“My favourite book is Hearts Invisible Furies by John Boyne – I highly recommend it! It’s about a boy from birth to death and his completely epic life. “She is currently reading Into the Darkest Corner by Elizabeth Haynes – she isn’t normally into thrillers and has been warned that this one will haunt her forever but is giving it a go…”
